In addition to extended customer support and GNSS Academy, Fastrax offers its customers GNSS Design Packages that are tailored, 1:1 consulting services. These services are targeted to companies that are already designing or manufacturing GNSS devices or to companies that are new to the business but who want to have hands on tutoring in order to save time and cost. Fastrax GNSS Design Services is not only limited to GNSS RF, HW or SW consultation, but we can also help with production setup and even do customized solutions-, and reference designs for you.

Package 1. Optimize Your GNSS Antenna and avoid EMI

For Who: Companies/designers who design their own end product and want to make sure functionality of GNSS antenna is optimized and that no EMI reduce the performance.

Price: 5,500€ / company, maximum 3 persons

Where: Fastrax headquarters in Espoo, Finland

Description: This 1:1 service requires very close partnership with the customer. Fastrax does need access to the customers design files and a deep understanding of customers end device GPS/GNSS performance expectations as well as possible cost, size and other constraints. This groundwork will be done already prior to the course. During the two day session, Fastrax and the customer designer(s) will together review fundamentals of GNSS signals and antenna design and thereafter assess pro’s and con’s of different alternatives and make an educated choice concerning antenna and its integration. The course, depending on customers end device, can cover everything from large patch antennas with large ground planes to smaller patches with unsymmetrical ground planes, helical antennas, different chip antennas, loop antennas and PCB strip line antennas. A lot of attention is also given to the complete design to avoid EMI as this is the single, most harmful factor in most GNSS devices. After the course and once the design is made and prototypes are ready, Fastrax will do evaluation of the antenna solution and performance and give a final report including final possible corrective actions.
