Different applications require different characteristics from the GPS receiver. Also the user environment and usage style play an important role when selecting the right GPS receiver for the application. Therefore it is extremely important to test the receivers under authentic circumstances, to ensure optimal levels positional performance and sensitivity.

Fastrax offers a selection of tools and software for easy evaluation and testing of all GPS receivers in Fastrax product lines. The equipment enables users to simultaneously test several GPS receivers connected to a laptop on the road or in the woods. Performance, time-to-first fix, signal-to-noise ratio and several other characteristics can be easily measured using the evaluation software. With the evaluation software, one can also try out different parameters and configurations, to understand which set of parameters would be optimal for the end-application.

Fastrax GPS receivers can be tested with the Evaluation Kit or the Mini Evaluation Kit , together with application boards for each module. Some antenna modules can be connected to the Mini Evalaution kit by simply connecting with a cable.
